Timing Machine Terms
Last updated July 30, 2026
These terms cover your use of Timing Machine, a market-history game by Tarracobytes. By playing the game, you agree to them. Our general terms apply too.
The game
Timing Machine is an offline game. You trade a fixed pot of play money through a replay of real market history and see how your timing compares against buying and holding. It requires no account and never connects to the internet — your records and settings are stored only on your device, and uninstalling the game removes them.
Not financial advice
Timing Machine is entertainment, not financial advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. The money is imaginary and the trading is deliberately simplified — one flat fee, no spreads, no slippage, no taxes, and orders that always fill at the day's price. The scores, grades, and trader personalities the game hands out are for fun. How a market behaved in the past says nothing about how it will behave next. Don't make real investment decisions on the strength of a game; speak to a qualified adviser instead.
Market data
The game replays historical price data for real markets, bundled with the app. We believe it is accurate, but we can't warrant it — figures may be adjusted, rounded, or incomplete, and the game simplifies some of them on purpose. Headlines shown during play are brief references to real events, included for period atmosphere. Market and index names belong to their respective owners; their use here is descriptive and implies no endorsement or affiliation.
Sharing results
The game can build an image of your results and hand it to whichever app you pick from your device's share sheet. That's your choice and your share — once it leaves the game, the receiving app's own terms and privacy policy govern what happens to it.
The store
Timing Machine is distributed through app stores, and the store's own terms apply alongside these.
Fair use
Play as much as you like. Don't disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the game or use it in ways the store prohibits.
No warranties
Timing Machine is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from its use, including any real-world financial decision you make after playing.
Changes
We may update these terms as the game changes. If we make a material change, we'll update the date above. Continued play means you accept the new terms.
